Good Bean Seeding Progress Reported
WASHINGTON - May 10/04 - SNS -- Good progress seeding this year's dry edible beans was reported in most producing states during the past week, despite widespread concern about soil moisture conditions and its potential impact on germination in fields.
While moisture conditions in states such as Michigan are tending toward the surplus side of the spectrum, growers elsewhere report dry soils and a need for a soaking rain to recharge moisture levels and ensure even and timely germination.
