In the direct slaughter cattle trade in the Five Major Marketing Areas,
Texas/Oklahoma; Kansas; Nebraska; Colorado; Iowa/Minnesota; on Monday, not
enough sales reported to establish a market trend. Steers: Live basis; (all
Grades: no sales). Dressed basis; (all Grades: no sales). Heifers: live basis;
(all Grades: no sales). Dressed Basis; (all Grades: no sales).
Terminal markets: So. St Paul slaughter steers and heifers sold mostly
steady. Steers: Few Choice 2-3 1251-1463 lbs 90.00-91.00. Heifers: Choice 2-3

The direct hog trade prices are based on 185 lbs hog carcass with 0.9-1.1
inch back fat and 6 inch square loin/2.0 inch depth plant delivered.
National direct trade barrows and gilts were .76 higher with prices ranging
from 68.50-81.50, weighted average price 77.55. Iowa-Minnesota was 1.32
higher at 68.50-81.00, weighted average price 78.14. Western Cornbelt sold
1.17 higher at 68.50-81.50, weighted average price 78.03 and Eastern
Cornbelt was .09 higher at 72.50-81.08, weighted average price 76.69.
At South St Paul and Sioux Falls terminal markets, barrows and gilts sold
1.00-1.25 higher, with 47-50 percent lean 220-270 lbs selling from 54.00-58.25.
