USDA Buys 350 MT PulsesKANSAS CITY - May 7/04 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 350 metric tons (MT) of peas and beans for shipment as food aid in June. Bought under terms of invitation PL-480 food aid tender 054F, the pulses bought replaced merchandise which was not purchased on invitation 054. This tender substituted pinto beans for 190 MT of lentils not bought for Haiti and allowed processors to offer whole yellow and/or green peas on the 160 MT of peas for Djibouti.
