   MICHIGAN---Shipments 0-0-0---Recent cooler temperatures and a hard
frost May 2 is expected to set back the harvest during the week of May 2.
The early harvest has been diverted to processors or retailed at local
roadside stands.  Significant volume is expected by the week of May 9 to
establish price trends.  The processing cash price agreed upon
by many processors and the Michigan Asparagus Growers Division of the
Michigan Farm Bureau is 62 cents for spears with a maximum length of 7.5
inches and 5/16 inch in diameter.
