China Expects 6 MMT Pulse HarvestBEIJING - Apr 30/04 - STAT -- Pulse production in China this year could reach six million metric tons(MT), up from 5.7 million MT last year, according to data assembled by the U.S. agricultural attache here. In the first report to look collectively at dry edible beans, lentils and field peas, the U.S. agricultural attache said pulses represent roughly 1% of the country's grain and fed production. Although no official data has been published since the late 1990s, it is generally believed total pulse acreage and output has gradually increased over the past decade.
