Canadian Seeding Intentions Surprising
VANCOUVER - Apr 23/04 - SNS -- Canadian specialty crop seedings are expected to increase 3.7% this year to just under 7.2 million acres -- the third largest seeded area for this commodity sector in that country's history.
The increase was fueled by a surprising jump in interest in planting field peas and stronger than expected interest in growing lentils, according to the Statistics Canada seeding intentions estimates released today.
