French Pea Exports Almost Halved
PARIS - Apr 16/04 - STAT -- Field pea sales by French exporters are nearly half of what they were a year earlier, as high internal feed pea values and demand diverts product from export sales channels.
Shipments between July and February of the 2003-04 marketing year now total 333,030 metric tons (MT), down 45% from the quantity shipped during the same eight-month period the previous marketing year, according to data assembled by the Union Nationale Interprofessionnelle des Plantes Riches en Proteines (UNIP).
