Canadian Egg Production Off to Slow StartOTTAWA - Apr 8/04 - SNS -- Canadian egg production is off to a slow start this year, with output in January and February down 0.27% from last year at 93.5 million dozen eggs,m according to the latest data available from Statistics Canada. Production in January totalled an estimated 44.8 million dozen in February, down 0.6% from February 2003, and down almost 4 million dozen from January. Part of the month over month decline is accounted for by the fact February was three days shorter. Poultry meat production reached 82.3 million kilograms in February, up 0.7% from February 2003.
