USDA Buys 8220 MT PulsesKANSAS CITY - Apr 7/04 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 8,220 metric tons (MT) of pulses for shipment as food aid during May. Tight market conditions for field peas and lentils had an impact on the tender, with the USDA rejecting all offers on 2,730 MT of lentils and 760 MT of green peas due to high prices; and not buying 1,020 MT of lentils because of a shortfall in offered product.
