Growers to Cut U.S. Bean AreaWASHINGTON - Mar 31/04 - SNS -- Prospective 2004 planting of dry beans in the U.S. totals 1.33 million acres, down 5% from last year and 31% below two years ago, according to the USDA seeding intentions report. Unfortunately, the USDA seeing intentions report for dry edible beans did not break out intended planted area by class. Instead, the USDA focussed on state totals for all classes of beans combined.
