Mustard IP System ConsideredREGINA - Mar 30/04 - SNS -- Extending the Canadian Grain Commission's (CGC) new Canadian Identity Preserved Recognition System (CIPRS) to cover mustard has attracted interest from some industry participants, says Bill Greuel, provincial oilseeds and transgenic crops specialist with Saskatchewan Agriculture, Food and Rural Revitalization, despite concerns over cost-sharing. "Canada is recognized as the most consistent supplier of high quality mustard to the world," says Greuel. "Saskatchewan accounts for 70% of the world mustard trade so, to maintain this reputation, we should look at a globally recognized identity preservation system. It's more work for everyone but, at the end of the day, it may be worth it." The subscriber version of the article is available by Clicking here
