Argentina-Venezuela Trade Barter
BUENOS AIRES - Mar 30/04 - SNS -- Venezuela and Argentina have negotiated an oil for food barter, which will see Argentina ship an unspecified basket of agricultural products in exchange for 700,000 tons of fuel oil and 250,000 cubic meters of diesel.
The exchange of products is expected to occur within the next 30 days, with the first fuel shipments expected to arrive shortly. Argentina needs the fuel to avoid widespread power and gas shortages during the coming winter period.
