Lentils Maintain Upward MomentumVANCOUVER - Mar 26/04 - STAT -- North American lentils maintained their recent upward momentum through the past week. Markets were given a midweek boost by the USDA's latest PL-480 food aid tender, with government buyers seeking offers of 5,990 metric tons (MT) of any class of lentil for shipment during May. That lifts demand so far this marketing year to 40,770 metric tons (MT), just ahead of the 39,360 MT bought for shipment between September and May of the 2002-03 marketing year.
