Feed Remains Field Pea Price LeaderVANCOUVER - Mar 26/04 - STAT -- International field pea markets remain under the influence of the feed sector as the world struggles with tightening supplies of protein meal and other major fed ingredients. The May delivery option for soybean meal finished the week's trading on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) at U.S. $316.90 a short ton, up from $314.20 last week. By contrast, Canadian field pea grower bids range up to CDN $5.75 per bushel for No 1 grade whole green peas or just CDN $211 per metric ton or almost U.S. $145 a short ton -- less than half the value of the CBOT's May contract.
