Czech Sugar Imports De-emphasizedVIENNA - Mar 23/04 - SNS -- Sugar imports by the Czech Republic could be hurt over the short term after the country joins the European Union. Amendments to the Czech Sugar Act 114/2001, which pave the way for harmonizing Czech with European policies, sets the sugar quota for 2003-04 at 454,862 metric tons (MT).
