Big Indian Crop May Not Hurt ImportsVANCOUVER - Mar 19/04 - STAT -- India's agriculture department maintained its prediction rabi season pulse area would reach 14.7 million hectares, up 2.7 million hectares from last year and well above the long term average of 10.7 million hectares. Gram or chickpea is the main Rabi pulses crop with a normal area of 5.8 million hectares, which is about 57% of the total Rabi pulses area.
