Frozen Poultry Stocks Advance
WASHINGTON - Mar 19/04 - SNS -- Frozen poultry in cold storage in the United States increased during February, but remained below year earlier levels, according to the latest USDA data.
Total frozen poultry supplies on February 29, 2004 were 7% above last month, but 13% below February 2003 at 1,022 million pounds.
Total stocks of chicken were 2% greater than last year, but 19% below last year at 544 million pounds. Total pounds of turkey in freezers were 13% above the previous month, but 3% below last year at 477 million pounds.
