High Prices Trim Russia's Cotton UseMOSCOW - Mar 17/04 - SNS -- Cotton usage rates in Russia have been hurt by international prices for the commodity, with the result imports are declining. Imports during the 2003-04 marketing year are now expected to total 332,370 metric tons (MT), a solid decline from the 359,249 MT bought in 2002-03. For the coming year, imports could fall further to a projected 320,950 MT, having a direct impact on the country' clothing industry because there is no domestic production and no residual stocks.
