Valencia orange measurement report was released. The report forecasted
a California state crop of 30 million (37.5 pound) cartons, a production
total 28 percent less than the previous year’s production. With a smaller
crop, the report also noted larger fruit sizing in the Central Valley
and Southern California growing areas. The state average fruit set per
tree was stated to be 392 fruits per tree with an average size of 2.707
inches. Quality generally good.
