Spanish Feed Pea Demand UnderstatedVANCOUVER - Mar 16/04 - STAT -- The U.S. agricultural attache for Spain expects field peas to be incorporated into Spanish livestock feed mixes at a slightly higher rate in 2004-05 as was the case during the past year. Even so, incorporation rates in both marketing years is only around 0.75% of total feed ingredients used. For the coming year, this would see about 250,000 MT of feed peas used by livestock feeders, up from an estimated 246,000 MT this season; but below the estimated 268,000 MT fed in 2002-03 and the 356,000 MT used in 2001-02.
