EU Imposes Duty on U.S. Chickpeas
VANCOUVER - Mar 12/04 - SNS -- International chickpea markets were unmoved by the European Union's decision to impose tariffs on U.S. origin chickpeas as part of a package of retaliatory import duties.
The move is perceived as a bullish development because it compounds the tightness of world markets by causing European importers to try harder to originate product from other origins in order to avoid paying the escalating import duty.
