The Amsterdam April potato futures contract were up to $10.13 per cwt on March 8th. News reports this past week indicate a major quick-service chain will begin downsizing the portion of a French fry order on their menu. News reports also indicated a Hermiston, Oregon, potato processing plant will be closed in the next nine months. Idaho 2004 crop French fry contracts negotiations are continuing but are expected to conclude this week. MICHIGAN---Shipments to Chippers 183-180*-196---Movement expected about the same.
