Mexico Auctions Bean TRQ April 2MEXICO CITY - Mar 8/04 - STAT -- The Mexican government announced the first round of tariff rate quota (TRQ) bean import auctions for 2004. To be held April 2, the auction covers a third of the quantity of dry edible beans Mexico is obliged to import from Canada and the United States on a duty free basis. This auction covers 22,398.746 metric tons (MT) of U.S. origin beans and 671.903 MT of Canadian origin beans. Individual importers can purchase a maximum of 4,479.749 MT of U.S. origin permits and a maximum of 134.380 MT of permits for Canadian origin beans.
