Poultry Output Rising in BelarusMOSCOW - Mar 1/04 - SNS -- Strong domestic demand for poultry products on account of improvements in disposable incomes in Belarus is expected to allow the country's producers to sustain their current 5% annual growth rate in output through the coming year. The U.S. agricultural attache here notes government data reveals the Belarussian economy expanded by 6.8% in 2003. Combined industrial production and agricultural output also rose by 6.8%. The profit margin for industrial production was 12.5%, while fixed capital investment grew 17.9%. Consumer goods production grew by 7.3% in 2003, including a rise of 7.9% in output of food products.
