Partnering with the Meals On Wheels Association of AmericaTM and Coordinated Care Solutions-CareGuideTM, Golden Cuisine furnishes moderately priced, nutritionally balanced and flavorful frozen meals. With Golden Cuisine, seniors, their caregivers or even relatives who live in another state can simply order the meals via its Internet site, www.goldencuisine.com. Amazon also offers Golden Cuisine at its Web site, www.Amazon.com, in its Gourmet Food section. "This partnership provides yet another simple solution for consumers, especially those in caregiver roles, to guarantee their loved ones get proper nutrition," ConAgra said in a press statement. "Meals are packaged to stay frozen and can arrive at seniors' homes on a prearranged weekly schedule." The company said meals were formulated to meet government standards for senior nutrition. The meals contain three ounces of cooked protein, one-half cup starch and two one-half cup servings of crispy vegetables. Nutritional information and simple preparation instructions on the packages are in large black print for easy reading, and meals can be heated in a microwave or a conventional oven. At the moment, there are 16 meals available priced from U.S. $3.70 to $4.70 each. Shipping charges are extra. ConAgra intends to rotate the meal selections available throughout the year. Currently, the lineup includes such meals as Beef Pot roast, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans and corn; Pork Riblet with barbecue sauce, roasted sweet potatoes, sugar snap peas and a blend of broccoli and cauliflower; Mesquite Chicken with barbecue sauce over a black-bean rice blend, carrots and green beans; and Baked Fish and rice pilaf with carrots and red peppers, served with brussels sprouts and a vegetable blend.
