Australian Pulse Harvest Estimate SlipsCANBERRA - Feb 16/04 - SNS -- Australian pulse production continued to slip, with the latest crop production estimates from the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics (ABARE) pegging total output at 2.08 million metric tons (MT), down from December's 2.18 million MT forecast. One of the numbers watched closely by the pulse industry is lentils. Several industry participants have been looking for the official crop production estimate to be slashed to 100,000 MT or less to take into account late season problems with the crop.
