Russia Processes 273,400 MT Raw SugarKIEV - Feb 9/04 - APK -- According to operative information from sugar industry union "Soyuzrossakhar" as of February 4, 2004, Russian refinery plants received into processing since the start of the year 273,400 metric tons (MT) of cane-origin raw sugar, processed 229,500 MT and produced 226,000 MT of final product. Stocks of raw sugar at the refineries (including carryovers from last year) constituted 285,400 MT. There are 7 refinery plants currently involved in processing of raw sugar out of 18 plants, operating in this season. Sugar yield in processing since the start of year has averaged 97.9% (in 2003 - 97.63%), sugar losses in processing - 0.45% (in 2003 - 0.58%), sugar content in molasses - 0.55% (in 2003 - 0.63%).
