Australia -- New South Wales Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - Jan 30/04 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. For tonight and Saturday WARNINGS: Major flood warning for the Paroo River. Minor to moderate flood warning for the Barwon River and Mungindi and downstream. Minor flood warning for the Warrego River. Minor flood warning for the Narran Rivers. STATE FORECAST Very High fire danger for the Central West Slopes for Saturday. Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast corner, contracting to the far north of the Northern Rivers on Saturday. Isolated showers in the southeastern border districts, reaching northwards to the southern Central Tablelands and adjacent coast. Isolated thunderstorms on the southern half on the ranges and adjacent slopes and coast should be confined to the south of the Southern Tablelands and adjacent coast on Saturday. Dry elsewhere. Mild to warm in the south. Warm to hot in the north. Moderate west to southwest winds inland, fresh at times.
