Russian Processed Food Output Rises
KIEV - Jan 27/04 - APK -- In December 2003 Russian food processing industry enterprises increased output 6.2% from December 2002; over 2003 the production rose 5.1% from that of 2002.
According to State Statistics Committee, in December 2003 the food processing plants produced 462,000 metric tons (MT) of refined sugar, which is 24.3% less than in November, 672,000 MT of bread and bakery products (3.1% up from previous month), 196,000 MT of vegetable oil (4.3% up), 50,700 MT of margarine products (2.8% up), 37,000 MT of mayonnaises (29.8% up), 16,300 MT of butter (1.2% up), 70,300 MT of pasta goods (about the same as in November).
