USDA Tenders for 89,940 MT Ag Products

KANSAS CITY - Jan 20/04 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here is seeking offers of 89,940 metric tons (MT) of agricultural commodities for shipment as food aid in March.

The tender covers 23,050 MT of cornmeal; 9,230 MT bulgur; 5,280 MT of soy-fortified bulgur; 6,130 MT of corn-soy blend; 6,440 MT of milled rice; 15,050 MT of pulses; 2,600 MT of soy-fortified sorghum grits; 10,250 MT of vegetable oil; 8,880 MT of all-purpose flour; and 3,060 MT of wheat-soy blend.

Offer are due February 3 for reply the following day. Shipment for pulses included on the tender is between March 1 and 15; or in sellers option between March 16 and 31. The delivery period for the remaining good are between March 6 and 20, or in seller's option between March 21 and April 5.

In releasing details of the tender, the USDA also stipulated any products shipped to Rwanda must include the "Best Used By Date" on bags as follows: Best Used By: MM/YYYY. Milled will be a #5/20, long grain, reasonably well-milled. No parboiled bids.
