Mexico Sets Over-Quota Bean DutyMEXICO CITY - Jan 19/04 - STAT -- The Mexican government has set the over-quota import duty for dry edible beans brought into the country in 2004 at 46.9%. Edible beans are one of the few commodities still subject to North American Free Trade Agreement Tariffs. This year's auctions will cover an estimated 67,196 metric tons (MT). This will advance to 69,212 MT in 2005; 71,284 MT in 2006; 73,427 MT in 2007; and 75,629 MT in 2008.
