USDA Buys 2,180 MT Green Peas
KANSAS CITY - Jan 14/04 - STAT -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 2,180 metric tons (MT) of whole green peas for shipment as food aid in February.
The peas were bought under terms of PL-480 food aid tender invitation 014B for shipment between February 16 and 29. The originally request was for whole yellow peas in invitation 014. In announcing results for that tender, the USDA said 160 MT were not offered and 2,020 MT of yellow pea offers were rejected on account of price.
