Net Decline in U.S. Sugar HarvestWASHINGTON - Jan 12/04 - SNS -- Projected U.S. sugar production for fiscal year 2003-04 is decreased 21,000 short tons, raw value, from last month, based on processors' production projections and estimates compiled by the Farm Service Agency, according to the latest USDA World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) report. Cane sugar production is down 75,000 tons, mostly due to lower output in Louisiana. Beet sugar production is increased 54,000 tons. Total use is unchanged.
