Ample Hay Stocks in United StatesWASHINGTON - Jan 12/04 - SNS -- Good pasture conditions in the United States has kept pressure off hay markets, with the result stocks on hand as of December 1 were up 7% from the previous year, according to the latest USDA crop report. Stocks of all hay stored on farms totaled 111 million tons on December 1, 2003. Disappearance of hay from May 2003 - December 2003 totaled 68.5 million tons, compared to 69.8 million tons for the same period a year ago.
