USDA Buys 7,200 MT PulsesKANSAS CITY - Jan 7/04 - STAT -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 7,200 metric tons (MT) of pulses for shipment as food aid during February. In announcing the purchases, the USDA noted offers of yellow split peas fell 160 MT short of the invitation total of 4,220 MT and a further 2,020 MT of yellow peas were rejected as being too high priced. The full quantity of lentils, split green peas, small red and pinto beans sought under terms of PL-480 food aid tender invitation 014 were bought.
