Thunder Bay Exports Finish StrongWINNIPEG - Jan 5/04 - STAT -- Specialty crop clearances through the port of Thunder Bay finished the year on a strong note as 70,027 metric tons (MT) of field peas moved through the port in December, nearly doubling the total volume of peas cleared through the port in calendar 2003. Data compiled by the Canadian Ports Clearance Association reveals the year ended with 142,939 MT of field peas moving through Thunder Bay, a massive improvement on the 25,847 which shipped through the port in 2002; but well below the record 646,972 MT shipped in the year 2000.
