Lentil Market Closes on Soft Note

VANCOUVER - Aug 10/13 - SNS -- International lentil markets finished the week's trading on a softer note as offers from exporters remained ahead of the immediate needs of buyers.

Old crop product is still readily available from Canada, which expects to see initial harvest activity in the coming week. This has created an eagerness to sell at a time when most end users are still in summer holiday mode.

Isolated, frost events were reported in eastern Saskatchewan and Manitoba at week's end. There were no immediate reports of damage.
