VANCOUVER - Aug 2/13 - SNS -- North American lentil markets transitioned into a new crop pricing basis with the end of Canada's 2012-13 marketing year.
Canada's harvest is not yet underway and cool weather has slowed crop development in some areas.
By contrast, the week started with 12% of Montana's lentil crop in the bin, compared to 19% at this time last year; while farmers in North Dakota have harvested 2% of their crop, down from 11% last year.
