Lentils Losing Direction
VANCOUVER - Jul 20/13 - SNS -- North American lentil markets finished the week's trading on an unsettled note as markets begin the transition to a new crop trading basis.
The harvest is now underway in the United States, with the week starting with 8% of Montana's lentils already in the bin, along with reports of limited harvest activity in Washington state.
Based on current weather conditions, processors in Saskatchewan expect see some harvest activity the first half of August.
