Indian Demand Supports Red LentilsVANCOUVER - Mar 1/13 - SNS -- North American lentil markets finished the week's trading on a firmer note against improved export demand, especially for red lentils. Since the start of the marketing year Canada has exported proportionately more red lentils than green. Though only 43% of the available supply of lentils was red, that class accounted for 51.6% of all lentil exports in the August through December period. That reflects unusually strong demand from India, which bought two-thirds of all red lentils exported from Canada during that five-month period.
