Australia -- Victoria Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - Aug 1/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. Warnings A strong wind warning is current for Victorian coastal waters west of Cape Otway. A frost warning is current for the Northeast, Northern Country, West, South and East Gippsland districts. Weather Pattern A weak cold front will move south of Victoria tonight but a stronger front will approach from the Bight on Monday, crossing the State on Tuesday. A high pressure system well to the north extends a strong ridge to eastern Victoria and this ridge will remain slow moving until Saturday night before moving east and weakening. Victoria Tonight and Saturday: Fine apart from morning fogs and local frost in the north and east. A cool and mostly sunny day with mostly moderate north to northwesterly winds, fresher in the southwest. Sunday: Fine, although high cloud increasing in the west. Freshening northwest wind. Cool. Monday: Showers or patchy rain developing in the west, reaching central parts at night. Windy. Cool to mild. Tuesday: Patchy rain then scattered showers. Windy. Westerly change. Becoming colder.
