U.S. National Weekly Rice Summary

LITTLE ROCK - May 21/12 - SNS -- The latest weekly rice market summary for the United States was released by the USDA today.


                       National Weekly Rice Summary
                 (Arkansas-Louisiana-Texas-California)

   Domestic shipment: Offers, fob mills, milled rice, spot prices, dollars per
cwt, bagged. (All milled rice grade No 2 not to exceed 4 percent brokens, except
California grade No 1. All second heads grade No 4 or better, second head and
brewers are bulk.) Rough rice per cwt FOB farm for grade 2, milling 55/70.

                             Domestic Situation

   Domestic milled rice price quotes were steady this week in the south and
steady to higher in California. By-products were steady to lower in the south
and steady in California. Bids for Louisiana rough rice were lower.

   In the south, long grain rice price quotes were steady, quoted mostly at
24.50-25.00; medium grain prices were steady; parboiled quotes were steady,
quoted mostly at 27.75-28.50; second heads were steady; brewers were steady.
Rice by-products: Offers for rice bran were steady to 15.00 lower; millfeed was
steady; hulls were steady. Louisiana rough rice was 26 cents lower per cwt.

   In California, medium grain milled rice prices were steady to 50 cents
higher; Short grain milled rice was steady to 50 cents higher; second heads were
steady to 1.00 higher; brewers were steady to 1.00 higher. Rice bran was steady;
hulls were steady with some reportedly being given away.
