Birdseed Ingredients FirmVANCOUVER - May 4/12 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets finished the week's trading on a firmer note as excellent progress seeding corn in the United States dims hopes farmers will need to switch to alternate crops. As the U.S.-based National Sunflower Association notes, "Old and new crop sunflower prices are closely tracking" soybean futures. "In the second half of this marketing year vegetable oil supply is expected to get tighter due to lower soybean crush coupled with reduced palm oil production.
