Australia -- Queensland Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - Jul 1/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. IDQ1070001 WARNING SUMMARY No warnings. STATE FORECAST for Wednesday Cloud and areas of rain over southern districts, contracting to eastern districts overnight and clearing seawards during the morning. Fine otherwise apart from some possible drizzle about the southern border ranges tonight. Generally moderate SW to SE winds becoming fresh and gusty in the SE of the state. Moderate NW/SW winds along the tropical coast. EXTENDED OUTLOOK On Thursday the low is expected to move away from the NSW coast and weaken. The drizzle about the southern border ranges should clear early but isolated showers are expected to develop in the vicinity of the Gold Coast. Showers are also likely over northern Cape York Peninsula where low level moisture is expected to come in from the east. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday the large high, presently well to the south of the continent, will establish itself into the Tasman Sea. Along the east coast, SE winds will increase and showers will gradually develop along it in the usual places.
