Edible Beans Hold GroundVANCOUVER - Sep 10/11 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets finished the week on a relatively firm note against good, ongoing demand from Algeria and higher opening season asking prices from China. Meanwhile, markets in the United States are now making the transition from old to new crop pricing as harvest activity increases throughout the growing region. This left the spot market index for U.S. origin beans unchanged on the week at 1565. Similarly, the index for grower bids was also unchanged on the week at 1383 points.
