AgCanada Sees 130,000 MT Mustard Harvest

VANCOUVER - Aug 5/11 - SNS -- In its latest monthly review of Canadian mustard seed Agriculture Canada's market analysis branch in Winnipeg reports seeded area will total 360,800 acres this year, compared to 480,000 acres last year.

Agriculture Canada believes harvested area will reach 346,000 acres for a potential 130,000 MT crop, versus 186,000 last year.

Agriculture Canada forecasts exports will reach 130,000 MT in 2011-12. Domestic use is forecast at 35,000 MT in the coming marketing year.

Season ending stocks are forecast to finish the 2010-11 season at 100,000 MT and the 2011-12 season at 65,000 MT.

Agriculture Canada estimates grower bids averaged $570 MT in 2010-11 and will average between $675 and $705 MT for all classes of mustard in 2011-12.
