Afternoon National Slaughter Cattle Review

ST JOSEPH - Feb 24/11 - SNS -- Afternoon market conditions and values for slaughter cattle on a live and dressed basis in the United States.


Afternoon National Slaughter Cattle Review as of 2:00 pm Thursday

Thus far for Thursday trading in the Southern and Northern Plains was active on good
demand.  In the Western Cornbelt trading was moderate on good demand. Compared to
last week live sales, in the Southern Plains, sold 1.00 higher at 111.00 and dressed
sales, in Kansas, sold steady at 173.50. Compared to the prior week, in Nebraska,
live sales sold 1.00 higher at 112.00 and dressed sales sold 3.00 to 5.00 higher at
180.00. In Colorado live sales sold 1.00 to 2.00 higher at 112.00. Dressed sales sold
at 180.00 with no previous week comparison.  Compared to the previous week, in the
Western Cornbelt, live sales sold 3.00 to 4.00 higher from 109.00 to 112.00 and
dressed sales sold 2.00 to 4.00 higher from 177.00 to 181.00.
