Domestic shipment: Offers, fob mills, milled rice, spot prices, dollars per
cwt, bagged. (All milled rice grade No 2 not to exceed 4 percent brokens, except
California grade No 1. All second heads grade No 4 or better, second head and
brewers are bulk.)

Domestic Situation
Domestic milled rice price quotes were uneven in the south with head rice
sharply higher and brokens sharply lower. In California this week rice prices
were steady to higher. By-products were steady in the south and higher in
California.
In the south, long grain rice price quotes were steady to 2.25 higher mostly
1.25-1.50 higher, quoted mostly at 21.00-21.25; medium grain prices were steady
to 3.25 higher, quoted mostly at 28.00-28.75; parboiled quotes were steady to
3.25 higher, quoted mostly at 24.75-25.00; second heads were 50 cents to 2.00
lower, quoted mostly at 15.00-15.50; brewers were 50 cents to 3.00 lower, quoted
mostly at 13.00. Rice by-products: Offers for rice bran were steady; millfeed
was steady; hulls were steady.
In California, medium grain milled rice prices were 1.00-150 higher; short
grain prices were 1.00-1.50 higher; second heads were steady; brewers were
steady. Rice bran was 2.00-5.00 higher; hulls were 4.00 higher.
