Bullish Tone Remains in lentils

VANCOUVER - Sep 19/10 - SNS -- Canadian lentil markets maintained their strong, bullish tone through the past week in the face of limited harvest progress, widespread frost, snow in southwestern Saskatchewan, and forecasts of more rain.

Growers in some areas have given up hope of harvesting much crop this month and are now wishing for a dry October.

Yield reports from Saskatchewan's agriculture department indicate farmers have realized an averaged of 1,238 pounds per harvested acre, with a third of the prospective crop likely in bins.
