and begin late this week in Imperial Valley.  Additional shippers expect to begin 
the week of May 12, with most of the season fully underway by the week of the 19th.  
The late starts are due to unseasonably cool temperatures during the growing season. 
Central Arizona and Palo Verde Valley area shippers expect to begin harvest in 
early June. F.O.B. prices expected to be issued early next week.
   LOWER RIO GRANDE VALLEY, TEXAS---Shipments 0-0-0---Light supplies expected

   SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY,CALIFORNIA---Shipments 0-0-2---Movement expected 
to increase slightly but volume overall will remain generally light 
current week account of crop damage from the recent rains with the 
Brooks variety.  Moderate to heavy rains were reported throughout most of 
the district this past weekend.  There is a slight possibility of additional 
showers mid-week. Temperatures remain generally below seasonal with daytime 
highs only forecasted to be in the upper 60s to low 70s for current week. 
Most shipments of Brooks this season have been exported to Japan with the 
5 kg carton being the predominate style of pack. 5 kg carton (export price) 
85.00-90.00. Trade sources indicate that the Brooks harvest will begin 
winding down towards the end of this current week. Many shippers anticipate 
to begin the harvest of the Tulare variety by the weekend and should peak 
the week of May 11.  Current supplies insufficient to issue a F.O.B. report.
   STOCKTON-LODI-LINDEN DISTRICT, CALIFORNIA---Shipments 0-0-0---Most 
current supplies being shipped from the district are Brooks from the San 
Joaquin Valley. Very light movement of local grown Burlats has been 
reported from the district this past week. Anticipate light harvest of 
Bings to begin late next week but volume is not anticipated till the 
week of May 25. Temperatures remain unseasonably cool with daytime highs 
only forecasted to reach into the lower 70s current week. Possibility of 
showers during the the mid-week.  FIRST REPORT.

southern part of the San Joaquin Valley. However, most packers will begin 
in earnest this period. Unseasonable weather has brought some cooler than 
normal temperatures and some rainfall. Daytime highs will be in the high 
60s to mid 70s with the possibility of showers late this week. Continued 
precipitation is expected which could slow harvesting. Currently no 
F.O.B. is being issued.
   GEORGIA---Shipments 0-0-6---Movement expected to increase with initial
